Training
“Gaining insight into how autistic and neurodiverse children process sound and information has been incredibly eye-opening. This knowledge has completely reshaped my approach to teaching, and I am excited to apply these strategies to make my future lessons much more accessible.”
I love sharing ideas, skills and experiences with others, and I design and deliver training that is practical, creative and enjoyable. I offer tailored training for school staff, instrumental tutors and other professionals who want to make music accessible for all learners
My training is about giving people the confidence to have a go. Rather than sitting and listening to lots of theory, participants have the opportunity to explore ideas, try things out for themselves and think about how they might use them in their own work.
I aim to create relaxed, supportive sessions where there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and learn from one another. There’s no expectation that everyone starts from the same place — my training can be adapted to different levels of experience, roles and settings.
What can you expect?
My sessions are usually a mixture of:
Practical, hands-on activities
Trying out new ideas together
Demonstration and modelling
Time to reflect and share experiences
Ideas that can be adapted to different children, groups and settings
Practical resources and strategies to take away
I particularly enjoy helping people discover that they already have more creative possibilities than they might think — and giving them simple, achievable ways to use these in their everyday practice.
Training that you can take with you
For me, good training doesn't end when the session finishes. I want people to leave feeling inspired, supported and, most importantly, confident about putting something into practice.
Whether I'm working with a small team, a whole organisation or a group of practitioners, I try to make each session relevant to the people in the room and the work they do.
If you'd like to talk about training for your team or organisation, I'd be very happy to have a conversation about what would be useful for you.
